Did you know... 90% of our brains are developed between the ages of 2 and 6? What if more educational emphasis was placed on this particular age group, and we placed our best and brightest teachers with these students in order to develop a solid foundation and a love of learning that would last a lifetime?
Last week I was involved in an engaging conversation with a group of young, new teachers that were about to embark on their journey of re-shaping the consciousness of the world about education. The "No Child Left Behind Act" was discussed, and these teachers felt that it needed to be revamped in order to create successful learners. Teaching a child useless facts in order to take a test is a disservice to the children of this country.
My question to these teachers was, "What options do parents and teachers of preschoolers have?" They stated there are several great pre-school learning programs available to both parents and teachers, but one of their favorites was "The Adventures of Scuba Jack". This group was really excited about the Scuba Jack experience for themselves and their students. After finishing our discussion, I decided to go and engage in some Adventures of Scuba Jack on my own, and discover the magic of its learning programs.
I sat down at my computer and went to the Adventures of Scuba Jack's YouTube channel and watched all 22 videos. Awesome! I learned how to make play dough and silly putty, even had a great time using it to pull the comic strips from the paper as I did as a child. I found that even as an adult, Scuba Jack's interactive lessons and instructions were interesting and tons of fun! I am looking forward to doing this with my granddaughter soon. Even their Facebook page offers games, contests and crafts for children! Wow, engaging, Fun Ideas for the whole family! Great Idea!
The Adventures of Scuba Jack company creates premier educational DVDs and learning activity books for preschoolers. Each DVD includes core skills and knowledge that every preschooler needs to know for a successful entry into Kindergarten and is fully supported by episode specific activities, worksheets and crafts. Their newest episode, Coastline Critters, is a very entertaining experience for everyone. There are many colorful characters including Larry the Lobster and Carl the Crab, who bring an understanding of numbers, the alphabet and much more! The Adventures of Scuba Jack has just established Pre-School Planet, a website that offers on-line seminars for pre-school teachers in accordance with continuing education standards.
This gives preschool educators a new option in complying with their state's certification requirements. Pre-School Planet allows educators to download a text based seminar and complete an exam designed to test understanding of the concepts presented. Upon successful completion of the exam, educators will be mailed a Certificate of Completion equivalent to one hour of training. The company's mission is to provide essential tools that help teachers create learning environments that engage students and offer significant opportunities to develop knowledge.
Pre-School Planet's first seminar "Stop and Think", based on theories and practices formerly known as Time Out, is now available for purchase and download. Seminars can be purchased by individuals or in bulk by Directors of preschool facilities wishing to have their entire staff complete their continuing education requirements.
With the importance of early education and extensive research in preschool education, I can't say enough about Scuba Jack's learning system. I highly recommend that every parent, childcare provider and teacher check this learning system out. Give your children tools to help them succeed in life.
