Source Interlink Companies, Inc. ("Source" ) Names David G. Algire As President Source Interlink Distribution
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Source Interlink Companies, Inc., announced today that David G. Algire
will be joining the company as President of Source Interlink
Distribution, reporting directly to Michael L. Sullivan, CEO of Source
Interlink Companies, Inc.
Algire joins Source Interlink Distribution bringing a wealth of industry
experience from all levels of the supply chain for single copy
distribution. A twenty five year veteran in the industry, he has led
retail strategy for many top publishers where he was most recently at
the Meredith Corporation's National Media Group. Algire spent most of
his career with the Reader's Digest Association, where he served in a
variety of positions focused on growing profitable newsstand sales. He
is an industry leader having served on many boards, associations and
committees including the IPDA (International Periodical Distributor
Association); Chairman of the 2005 Retail Conference; and MPA the
Association of Magazine Media. In 2007, he was named Circulation
All-Star by Circulation Management Magazine.
Holding senior level executive positions over the last ten years, Algire
has demonstrated measurable success in establishing strategic retail
sales and marketing programs. He not only led teams that grew overall
retail sales dollars (in a depressed economy) but, introduced new
products, and special interest publications which were directly marketed
for retail consumption. He has partnered with major retailers to create
innovative promotions that incorporated brand and advertising promotions
alongside the printed magazine. As an advocate for the supply chain, he
has led and supported many initiatives to drive "positive change" for
the single copy channel.
In addition to Meredith, Algire spent five years (1999 - 2004) with
Primedia Magazines, the former owner of the prestigious Source Interlink
Media ("SIM" ) properties, where he collaborated and spearheaded retail
strategies for many of SIM's enthusiast publications and where he
assisted in the acquisition of some of SIM's best performing enthusiast
titles that continue to drive the success of the portfolio today.

Purchasing and Inventory Management; Warehouse Operations, Planning and
Optimization; Merchandising; Racks Manufacturing; Retail Claims; Source
International and new business development. He joins an already
seasoned, exemplary team that have not only grown Source Interlink
Distribution into the second largest wholesale distributor in North
America with over 30% market share but, who have led the way in creating
innovative retail and logistics solutions such as National Account
services; warehouse and transportation optimization; etc.
The announcement of Algire's appointment is the latest in a series of
additions that better positions Source Interlink Companies, to focus on

while aligning those companies to embrace the changing landscapes of
