Obama Takes a Beating in "See-Saw" Politics - Now What?
By Ian Brockwell
The Midterm elections produced the result everyone expected (including Barack Obama), as the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives in what was the biggest turnover in more than 70 years. They also made ground in the Senate, but the Democrats managed to hold onto their majority.
However, before voters begin their celebrations, we should take a closer look at what exactly has been achieved.
Just two years ago the Republicans took a severe bashing in the elections, and as a result Obama became President. Millions of Americans were patting themselves on the back for making what they thought was a brilliant choice and fell in love with the smooth talking Obama and his "Yes we can" rhetoric.
The Republicans have changed very little in the last two years, yet voters seem to have ignored this fact and have quickly jumped into bed with what was previously the "enemy".
I realise that this was something of a protest vote and a slap on the wrist for the current leader, but there is a good chance that the Republicans will regain full power in another two years as the electorate place their "Hope" in a new President.
It doesn't take a prophet to know that whichever party gains power in two years from now (Democrats or Republicans), the public will eventually dislike that President and his/her policies, and vote for the opposition (again).
How long will these "see-saw" politics go on before the voters realise that they are playing a losing game?
Both of the main parties are ruled by the same masters, so they don't care who you vote for. It is a little like a boxing match where both boxers are managed by the same person!
The only way to break this trend and hopefully elect a party that has not been corrupted by the system, is to vote for something NEW.

Unfortunately, the people who really control the political scene, also control the mainstream media, and use them to manipulate the voters into believing there are only two parties to choose from (they even decide on who the leader of that party should be).
Many will remember (hopefully) how the MSM (mainstream media) managed to make Ron Paul almost invisible when he made his challenge for the leadership of the Republican Party. They never reported his successes, and if he came third in a poll, they would list the first two and the fourth!
The Tea Party movement achieved some success, but many believe they are not sufficiently organized to obtain any major victories. Sarah Palin's high profile involvement is unlikely to help their cause in the long run.
At the end of the day, voters simply haven't got the courage to break away from their usual political habits and will continue to allow themselves to be manipulated by the media. The only "hope" for "change" is to vote for someone different and ignore what the MSM tell you, otherwise you will always remain a political pawn in the system.
