"After 17 years of marriage, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from wife Tish in Tennessee on Tuesday, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.

"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," they tell Us in a joint statement. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."

Billy Ray Cyrus has an achy breaky heart, let's hope he doesn't grow a mullet to help him get over his grief.

The divorce complaint cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the break-up. But according to US weekly the real reason for the split is Tish's extra-marital affairs. Tish was doing the Texas Two-Step with Brett Michaels.

I don't feel a smidgen of sympathy for Billy Ray Cyrus, a man who had a hit with "Achy Breaky Heart" and popularized the mullet deserves to burn in hell for all eternity.

Dear God, let's hope that Billy's divorce doesn't inspire him to write "Achy Breaky Heart Part II."
