M2 Renewables Announces a Joint Engineering Project With the Harvey Mudd Clinic to Further Develop the Company's Wastewater and Energy Conversion System

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 3, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- M2 Renewables (www.m2renewables.com), an industry leader pioneering wastewater treatment and renewable energy technology, announces that as part of its commitment to building a clean and sustainable future, the company will partner with Harvey Mudd College (http://www.hmc.edu/) Engineering Clinic to develop solutions to real-world technical problems related to renewable resources.

In collaboration with the Harvey Mudd graduate students, MR2 will design a superior subcomponent of the wastewater and energy conversion system that will achieve new levels of handling Fresh Solids by reducing the energy needed under conventional methods by 64%. M2R uses Fresh Solids as a feedstock for a specialized zero-emission ultra-high temperature gasifier, which produces a clean syngas used in the production of electricity to achieve wastewater plant energy self-sufficiency. This will further M2R's capability to eliminate 100% of biosolids disposal costs normally associated with landfills or land application. The process allows certain waste facilities to become net producers of energy for outside use or sale.

"Our company is dedicated to innovation and a cleaner, more efficient world, and we recognize that equipping future leaders is an integral part of a sustainable future," said Ken Stedman, Founder and CTO. "We are proud to work with a college as distinguished as Harvey Mudd while creating solutions for the most challenging issues in renewable resources," adds CEO Gerhard Forstner.

About M2 Renewables

M2 Renewables (M2R) is revolutionizing the process of wastewater treatment. The M2R system uses less space, consumes less power, and requires less human resources to operate while converting the solids removed from wastewater into renewable electricity. The scalable system allows clients to deploy for the size needed, allows growth to meet increasing demand, and dramatically improves carbon footprint when compared to conventional treatment plants.

M2 Renewables offers its treatment process and energy conversion system to municipalities, wastewater treatment authorities, governmental agencies and developers.
