GSLO: Yosion Weighs Joint Venture With China Mobile, GSLO Poised to Benefit
NEW ORLEANS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - GoSolarUSA (Pink Sheets: GSLO) announced today that its affiliate Yosion
is negotiating a potential joint venture with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL),
the world's largest mobile network operator.
The possible joint venture would involve Yosion and China Mobile setting
up a wholesale company that could provide the telecommunications giant
with Yosion's revolutionary ApplePeel 520 product. GoSolarUSA signed a
profit sharing agreement with Yosion last month that entitles GSLO to a
portion of Yosion's net profits worldwide, including China.
A state-owned enterprise, China Mobile is the most valuable mobile
telecommunications company in the world and is listed on the NYSE and
Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company has dominated Chinese mobile
services since its incorporation in 2000, enjoying a customer base of
more than half a billion users and a 70-percent market share. Sales of
the ApplePeel 520 could potentially help the telecom giant lure more
customers on to its new 3G network, which boasts a mere 15.3 million
subscribers.
"China Mobile has more subscribers than any other wireless provider in
the world," said GSLO President and CEO Tyson Rohde. "The fact that the
globe's biggest player in mobile telecommunications is interested in
this product is an undeniable testament to the potential of the
ApplePeel 520."
Currently, GoSolarUSA is busy readying the ApplePeel 520 for U.S.
consumers, the world's largest market for iPod accessories.
Representatives from Micro Center and other national electronics
retailers have already contacted Rohde to inquire about the device's
availability. The company signed an exclusive North American
distribution agreement with Yosion in October. The gadget's interface,
packaging, and branding will be tailored to suit the needs of American
retailers.
Rohde returned from China last month with 100 demonstration models of
the groundbreaking device earmarked for distribution to U.S. retail
buyers and media outlets.
"It's our hope that these 100 ApplePeel 520s will serve as the
accessory's formal introduction to the American market," Rohde said.
"You only get one shot at a first impression, so we're taking care to
ensure that this amazing technology blows everyone away."
The ApplePeel 520 is a case that fits over Apple's iPod Touch media
player and adds the ability to make voice calls and send text messages,
mimicking the functionality of Apple's more expensive iPhone. The device
interfaces electronically with the Touch, turning the powerful media
player into a cutting-edge smartphone.
GoSolarUSA is dedicated to aggressively acquiring, developing and
marketing promising and potentially profitable technology. The Apple
Peel 520 is a product of Yosion Technologies based in Shenzhen, China.
The iPod Touch and the iPhone are products of Apple Inc., (NASDAQ: AAPL)
which compete in the global smartphone market against Google's
(NASDAQ:GOOG) Android devices and the Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM)
BlackBerry line.
