Free Amplified Phone Program Invaluable to Family Caregivers in Florida
Non-Profit Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. Provides Free Amplified Phones to Floridians With Hearing Loss During National Family Caregivers Month, and All Year Long

Across Florida, more than 1.7 million people who devote their time, energy and finances to ensure their loved ones are comfortable and safe will be recognized this November during National Family Caregivers Month. Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI), the non-profit distributor of specialized telecommunications equipment for people with hearing loss and speech disabilities, applauds caregivers and is offering helpful tools throughout November that can improve the connection between caregivers and loved ones.
FTRI provides free amplified telephones to the estimated three million Floridians with hearing loss, a common health concern for senior citizens. FTRI is encouraging caregivers across the state to inform their family members about the state program and point them to regional distribution centers and eligibility information available at www.FTRI.org.

"Family caregivers play a critical but often unnoticed role in our society," said Colleen Schuster, FTRI's outreach manager. "We want to not only recognize these individuals but also let them know there are free tools, like amplified phones, available to their family member that can ultimately make the senior's life better and the caregiver's job easier."
FTRI provides a range of free solutions, including the Clarity W425 Pro amplified phone, to any permanent Florida resident who is certified as having a hearing loss. The cordless Clarity W425 Pro boosts incoming audio up to 45 decibels while speech enhancing technology makes phone calls clearer and easier to understand.
"Amplified phones can be a vital tool for caregivers who need to stay in touch with their family while away," said Schuster. "Because the products we supply are so relied upon, FTRI continually searches for the newest and best solutions for Florida residents with hearing loss or speech impairment."
The Clarity W425 Pro is designed to be user friendly in every way so quick and easy connection maintains the safety and security of the care recipient. For those using hearing aids, the phone is TIA-1083 compliant and hearing aid compatible. Its keypad has bold lettering, is backlit and has separated buttons for easy dialing.
"For more than 30 years Clarity has strived to reconnect people with friends and family through our technology," said Carsten Trads, president of Clarity. "FTRI goes to great lengths to make the right solutions available to those who need them and is a tremendous resource to caregivers and their family members."
