Megan Duskey Falls to Her Death at the Haunted Hotel Ball! Why?
By John Kays
The tragic accident of a 23-year-old elementary school teacher, Megan Duskey, is unexplainable. Megan arrives at the Haunted Hotel Ball, which was being held at Chicago's Palmer House Hilton, Saturday night, dressed as the comic book superhero the Silver Spectre, at around 10 PM. Somehow she goes to a more remote part of the hotel. For reasons unknown Megan tries to slide down a winding staircase.
This daring prank results in her falling four floors (or was it two floors?) to her death. Take a look at this photo of the rickety railing on this mezzanine to get a picture of just how treacherous this stairway truly is. Just why would Megan take such a great risk such as this? People question whether she had been drinking, but this hasn't yet been confirmed.
2,000 people were expected to attend the Haunted Hotel Ball, but it was cut short after the accident occurred. Megan was an early childhood special education teacher who had just barely begun her career. These kind of unexplained accidents make us scratch our heads and ask why? Halloween is suppose to be a time to have fun, but a tragic event such as this makes us wonder if that is even possible.
