CollegeNET Introduces Admit Application Evaluation System

PORTLAND, Ore. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - CollegeNET, Inc., a provider of Web-based, on-demand technologies, today announced the Admit application evaluation system, CollegeNET's new software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool that manages the entire application evaluation process from submission through decision. More than a simple electronic viewing tool, Admit is a secure Web-based service that enables all authorized personnel to evaluate applications and record their comments and scores directly to the application file from anywhere there is internet access. According to Patricia Summers, CollegeNET vice president of marketing: "With five major universities already committed to using Admit, this is the fastest pre-release uptake of any new SaaS service we've introduced."

At many colleges and universities, application evaluation involves a complex and inefficient process of filing, copying and hand circulating each student application for review. The Admit system saves time, paper and energy, and eliminates the risk of misplaced or overlooked documents by automatically attaching each application to the applicant's letters of recommendation, transcripts, portfolio and other supporting materials. The system ensures that all authorized viewers see and comment on a single set of application materials for each applicant, and encourages collaboration by making all reviewers' comments and applicant scores visible to authorized viewers. It also makes evaluation more convenient for reviewers, who can now access applications whenever they choose.

The Admit application evaluation system automatically sorts applications and creates application pools - routing each application to the appropriate department or group on campus. It enables reviewers to easily locate individual applications using filtered search and other functions, according to their specifications. The system integrates fully with CollegeNET Contact Management, Application Processing and Applicant Portal tools.

"CollegeNET is focused on improving convenience and efficiency in the application evaluation process," said Ms. Summers. "With the new Admit tool, authorized viewers can access the database at any time from home, office or out-of-town; they can view side-by-side comparisons of applications and have multiple rounds of reviews."
