Vertbaudet Present New 'Smaller Size' for Premature Babies in Latest Autumn/Winter Collection

Preparing for a baby's arrival can be both a stressful and joyful time in equal measure; but the arrival of a premature baby will almost certainly prove a more challenging experience for any parent. Bearing this in mind, Vertbaudet's practical and innovative approach to designing clothes "with children in mind" has led them to produce an increased sizing range in their latest Autumn/Winter 2010/11 baby clothing collection, offering a new 'tiny' sizing suitable for premature babies.

Previously, the Vertbaudet baby clothing collection catered for children aged 0 - 3 years as standard, with the 'newborn' category as the smallest 'entry level' size. The newborn category is suitable for infants weighing on average 3.3kg (approximately 7lbs 4oz) and measuring 45-50cm (approximately 17 3/4 -20in) long. But having recognised a need to provide clothing for smaller babies and early babies, Vertbaudet now offers an extra small 'tiny' category in their baby clothing collections' size range, suitable for infants weighing on average 2.5kg (5lbs 8oz), and measuring 40-45cm (15 3/4 - 17 3/4 in).

The tiny boys and girls clothing sizes are widely available throughout the various Vertbaudet infant clothing collections, with the 'Organic Collection' bodysuits and sleepsuits, and 'Baby's First Outfit' and 'Newborn Kits' ranges offering sets specifically designed for tiny babies.

Continuing in the same vein of their pragmatic but stylish approach to children's clothing, Vertbaudet have endeavoured to include a number of useful design features in their infant and tiny baby collections, ensuring that their baby clothes make caring for, dressing and changing small babies as easy as possible. Examples include practical cross-over front fastenings to prevent pulling clothes over the infant's unsteady head and neck, easy-close press studs, internal ultra-soft clothing linings, and elastane-enriched ribbed comfort waistbands to keep trousers fitting snugly and securely. The Vertbaudet baby pyjamas also feature non-slip rubber soles to help prevent slipping and sliding for little legs that are learning to walk.

In addition to their increased sizing range, and building on their commitment to put "children first" in their latest Autumn/Winter catalogue, Vertbaudet are also donating 25p plus VAT from each selected premature baby product sold from their infant collections. The donations will go directly to Baby Fund Trading, the trading company that donates profits to baby charity Tommy's (registered charity 1060508 and SC039280).
