High-Yield, Competitive Game First of Many Upcoming Flash Role-Playing Game

Today, CrowdStar officially launched "It Girl," the first of a new genre of high-yield, Flash-based, competitive role-playing games (RPG) that leverage CrowdStar's audience of more than 55 million monthly active users.

"It Girl" launched on CrowdStar's network after a short beta phase during which a diverse test audience played with the game and helped CrowdStar carefully optimize and tune the game's yield, known in the industry as average revenue per user.

"My highest priority at CrowdStar was to scale up our metrics infrastructure and monetization machine to the next level," said Niren Hiro, CEO of CrowdStar. "'It Girl' has been our most successful launch and has exceeded all expectations: more than four times the yield of our previous games at launch and continuing to grow."

CrowdStar is a U.S. pioneer game company that entered the Japanese social gaming market with its industry-leading franchises of "Happy Aquarium" and "Happy Island" on Japan's leading PC and mobile social networks. Games on Japanese social gaming networks enjoy much higher ARPU than games on U.S. social gaming networks.

Many of the higher yielding games have RPG elements, avatars and most run on Flash-enabled phones. CrowdStar's learnings from the Japanese market are being integrated into its U.S. game portfolio and contributing to higher monetization rates.

"Once again CrowdStar leads the way with the next genre of social games on Facebook," said Pete Hawley, vice president of product development for CrowdStar. "First came text-based RPGs, and then came Flash-simulation games like 'Happy Aquarium.' CrowdStar's Flash RPG games represent the future of social gaming: immersive, visually-rich, competitive RPGs that monetize at very high levels."
