The Making Strides against Breast Cancer of Martin, FL Walk is organized by The American Cancer Society to raise awareness and celebrate those struggling with cancer, those who are survivors, and those who have lost loved ones to the illness.
"This especially hits home with the both of us as we lost loved ones to this horrible disease, and we want to honor them by helping raise awareness, and money for research to find a cure." Said Vitale.
Vitale added "I lost my mother to Breast Cancer and my sister to a very rare form of Sarcoma, and team captain Kari, lost an Aunt recently to breast cancer and her mom to Stage III Ovarian Cancer, but, good news is that her Aunt Gerry is a Breast Cancer Survivor."
The team has already raised $415, and just needs $585 to reach their goal of a $1,000.
The American Cancer Society is an organization dedicated to wipe this deadly disease off the earth by raising much needed funds for research. The American Cancer Society also promotes awareness of the disease through education and screenings. Early detection is pivotal for a less invasive procedures and a better survival rate.
Everybody is at risk for breast cancer, regardless of age. Believe it or not, men are at risk too. It not only affects the person with cancer, but their family and friends too. That's why this walk is so important because it lets everyone know we stand together to defeat Cancer, so nobody has to go through this alone.
