Healthcare Reform, ACOs, Revenue Cycle: Topics Premier Healthcare Alliance Experts Will Discuss in October

On October 25, Premier's President and CEO Susan DeVore and Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Blair Childs, will speak at the Integrated Healthcare Association ACO Congress in Los Angeles. They will discuss how members of the alliance are driving performance improvement in Premier's new ACO collaboratives. Collaborative members AtlantiCare of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; Fairview Health Services of Minneapolis; and Hoag of Newport Beach, Calif., will also be speakers during the meeting. More than 70 hospitals are now participating in the collaboratives to improve care coordination, efficiency, quality and patient satisfaction while lowering costs.

Childs will also speak at the California Association of Healthcare Purchasing Materials Management annual conference on October 13 in Pismo Beach, Calif. He will discuss the drivers behind healthcare reform, key elements impacting hospitals and what hospitals should be doing to prepare.

Additionally, on October 8, Childs discussed ACOs at the Ellis Medicine American College of Healthcare Executives/Healthcare Financial Management Association meeting in Verona, N.Y. And on October 9, at Lakeview Medical Center's Annual Board Retreat in Superior, Wis., Childs covered reform and the future of healthcare.
