RFID Retail Industry Pioneer Zander Livingston Forms New Company - Truecount Corporation

DORSET, Vt., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Leveraging the experience gained in pioneering some of the first large-scale RFID item-level deployments for the retail industry, Zander Livingston, a recognized expert in the RFID for retail field, has formed his own firm, Truecount Corporation (http://www.truecount.com) in partnerships with software industry executive Jordan Lampert, and enterprise architect Paresh Yadav.

"We formed Truecount based on our strong belief in the profound capabilities of RFID technology," says Livingston, Truecount Corporation's CEO. "Throughout my six years in this industry, I have experienced first-hand the dramatic results RFID can achieve for retailers, and am impassioned by the possibilities for item-level RFID for retail."

Livingston's new company focuses exclusively on end-to-end solutions for the retail supply chain, combining a powerful, integrated software platform with consulting, training and implementation services to give retailers greater control over assets.

Livingston says a primary motivation for founding Truecount was "the great opportunity" to take advantage of the lack of strong retail software solutions in the RFID space. Moreover, the timing was favorable. With some of the world's largest retailers announcing their commitment to RFID roll-outs across their chains, it is clear item-level RFID tracking is establishing new standards for inventory control and supply chain management.

With the wave of RFID adoption building momentum across all sectors of the retail industry, the company provides scalable solutions that fit the needs of both tier two and three retailers as well as larger global chains. "We are structured so that a compelling ROI can be achieved, regardless of the retailer's size," says Livingston.

The Truecount business model anticipates the explosive growth of the RFID industry; growth that is expected to exceed six billion dollars by end of year 2010.

"The pilot periods have ended. RFID has proven its value with impressive ROI results," says Lampert. "Current economic conditions are actually accelerating the growth of RFID by creating new challenges for retailers. Businesses at all levels are being forced to reduce staff at a time when they need to control shrinkage and balance inventory as never before."

With RFID use increasing, specifically in the retail realm, many attribute this new "embracing" of RFID to the pioneering work and results achieved by American Apparel with Livingston at the helm as American Apparel's Director of RFID.

"I am happy to know that my contributions at American Apparel were significant in shaping the state of RFID in retail today," says Livingston. "My hands-on approach to solving problems provided deep insight into the science of RFID technology and the experience to understand the needs of retailers, resulting in an ability to merge technology with retail requirements to eliminate distortion."

Livingston and Truecount Corporation are being courted by major store brands and are working with a category-leading retailer on the upcoming launch of their solution.
