"Intelli Chair" Makes Annoying Noise If You Sit in Wrong Position
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Getting back pain from sitting still for too long or in a bad position could be a thing of the past thanks to a chair developed by a German scientist which makes noises to tell users when they need to move.
Risto Koiva invented the 'Intelli Chair' after researching 'sonification' -- the use of noise to convey information -- with his colleagues at Bielefeld University.
If the chair detects that its occupant is sitting in the wrong position or has remained seated for too long, it makes a noise to tell the user it is time to change position." Reuters
My mom expected me to walk as erect as soldier when I was a small child; she constantly admonished me not to "slouch."
I moved out of my parent's home when I was eighteen, and since then I haven't allowed anyone to critique my posture. You can get on my case for eating too much or not exercising, just don't tell me I'm slouching.
I'm slouching in my chair even as I'm typing this essay. I dare say that my relaxed posture inspires me to write these Pulitzer-worthy essays.
If an "Intelli Chair" made a noise because supposedly I was sitting in the wrong position, I would toss it out the window.
