Obama Wants Cap and Trade Next Year: Where Is Jack?
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The following is a statement by Rand Paul for U.S. Senate:
In recent news reports, President Obama has promised that he is
committed to pushing Cap and Trade national energy tax legislation
through Congress next year. Any Cap and Tax scheme from Washington will
surely mean hard times for Kentucky's coal industry, all of the other
industries that rely on affordable energy from coal, and all of the
Kentucky families who rely on those jobs to put food on the table.
Where is Jack?
Jack Conway's friends, President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and the liberal
Washington crowd, are planning on forcing their job-killing agenda onto
Kentucky and our hardworking families will pay the price, and Conway
wants to go to Washington to be just another rubber stamp for the
Obama-Pelosi agenda. Why won't Jack stand up for Kentucky families?
As reported in the Louisville Courier-Journal and Paducah Sun, Conway
originally supported Cap and Trade. (Courier-Journal, 7/11/2009;
Paducah Sun, 7/16/2009)
Now since Jack wants to be sent to Washington he has flip- flopped on
the issue. (Courier-Journal, 11/29/2009)
How can we trust him?
So, on protecting Kentucky jobs...Where is Jack?
Kentucky will never know...until Kentucky families are hurting from him
and his liberal friends' job-killing schemes.
Dr. Rand Paul understands the toll that a Cap and Trade national energy
tax will take on the coal industry, coal jobs and the people who depend
on them. As a senator, Dr. Paul will stand up for Kentucky families
and Kentucky jobs, by fighting against and stopping the
Obama-Pelosi-Conway agenda.
