Riley Power to Supply SCR System to Kentucky Power Plant
DANVERS, Mass. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Riley Power Inc., based in Worcester, MA, a member of the Babcock Power
Inc. family of companies, headquartered in Danvers, MA, has received a
contract from Kentucky Utilities Company, a subsidiary of E.ON US LLC,
for the design and supply of a Selective
Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system for its EW Brown Generating Station
Unit 3.
SCR systems designed by Riley Power offer a unique Delta Wing static
mixing technology that provides uniform flue gas and ammonia mixing,
high NOx removal efficiencies over a wide operating load range, and
rapid start-up and commissioning. SCR systems furnished by Riley Power
utilize technology under an exclusive license from Balcke Durr GmbH, and
from other proprietary sources. Riley Power SCRs have been supplied in
over 37,000 MW of power plant generation in the USA in operation, under
construction, or in design.

The EW
Brown Generating Station Unit 3 is a 450 gross megawatt coal-fired
boiler located in Burgin, Kentucky. The station is unique in showcasing
three generations of electricity-producing processes, including hydro,
fossil fuel, and combustion turbine. Kentucky Utilities Company (KU) is
