Ruckus Boston Obstacle Challenge Opens for Registration
MARSHFIELD, Mass. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Registration is now open for the first ever Ruckus Boston Challenge, an
authentic military-grade obstacle course competition, scheduled for
Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Marshfield, Massachusetts at the
Marshfield Fairgrounds. The Ruckus course includes more than 20
strenuous obstacles and covers more than three miles. This inaugural
event is designed to challenge the physical and mental strength of
everyone from casual athletes to extreme adventure seekers on the most
authentic obstacle course of its kind.
The Ruckus leadership hired the most accomplished and uniquely qualified
challenge course designer in the business - a retired Special Operations
military instructor - with an impressive breadth of military training to
develop the obstacle course. The quality and scale of the course is
unmatched and includes more than 20 intense running, climbing, jumping,
crawling, core and balancing elements. Whether climbing up and down a
cargo net, running through mud pits or helping a fellow competitor get
up over a wall, participants will have the opportunity to find out how
far they can push their own physical and mental boundaries.
"Cadres - or military-style trainers - will be strategically positioned
throughout the course to strongly encourage and push athletes to
complete their personal mission at the Ruckus Boston," said Liam
Brenner, co-founder of Ruckus Sports. "This event takes the best
of Special Operations military training techniques and obstacle design
and modifies it for a wide variety of athletes wanting to challenge
themselves in powerful way. Anyone with a moderate level of
fitness can complete the course but everyone will need to dig deep. The
Ruckus Boston challenge is designed for those who want to truly
understand the power of persistence and determination."
The event culminates in a Champions Heat where the participants who
finish in the top 10 percent of their division (men's, women's, masters
men's and masters women's divisions) will compete for a chance to win
first, second and third place finishes.
Once participants complete the challenge, it's time to "Raise a Ruckus"
and celebrate. Competitors can share their war stories or cheer on the
top athletes in the Champions Heat while enjoying beer, BBQ and music.
This event is also a perfect family affair, as children can feel the
pride of completing their own mission in the Mini-Ruckus challenge kid's
obstacle course.
