Trent Tucker Celebrity Golf & Poker Tournament Kicks off Thursday at Running Aces Harness Track
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Trent Tucker, former University of Minnesota and NBA basketball star and founder of the Trent Tucker Non-profit Organization, along with a host of sports celebrities, is set to appear at the Trent Tucker Celebrity Poker Tournament, Thursday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. at Running Aces Harness Track in Columbus, Minn.
Former NBA superstar and Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan has confirmed his participation in the other weekend Trent Tucker Celebrity Tournament events, including a celebrity party at the Crave at the Shops at West End, St. Louis Park, Friday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m., and the golf tournament at Rush Creek Golf Club, Maple Grove, Saturday, Sept. 18, shotgun start at 10 a.m.
The event - themed "A weekend of fun; a lifetime of impact," - is the annual fundraiser for the Trent Tucker Youth Program, an initiative that provides Twin Cities at-risk middle school students with educational opportunities, leadership training and career development.
"We welcome participants and spectators to join our sports celebrities at our weekend events, with the knowledge that their generous support makes a meaningful impact in the lives of young people in our area," Tucker said. "This tournament is our annual springboard to helping students in our after-school programs gain the opportunity to learn, grow and make a real difference in their communities."
Since 1998 the tournament events have raised more than $1 million for local charities and Tucker's youth program. Supporters of the organization's work may also become a member of the Trent Tucker Non-profit Network for $50.
