LAS VEGAS, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Miami Hurricane star running back Quadrine Hill's pro boxing career just went national, when fight promoter Roy Englebrecht announced today that Hill's four round bout with Yohan Banks will be part of the DirecTV & Dish Network Pay Per View portion of his Viva Mexico at Las Vegas championship boxing show, Wednesday, September 15th from the Hilton Theater in the Las Vegas Hilton. And not to miss a great promotional opportunity, Englebrecht has matched Hill up against another Division I football star, former defensive lineman for San Jose State Yohan Banks.

"I got with my matchmaker Whit Haydon and we checked several boxing databases and we believe Wednesday's Hill vs Banks matchup will be the first time in both boxing and collegiate football history that two Division I players have ever fought each other in a boxing ring," said Englebrecht . "You normally don't show four round bouts on any boxing broadcast, but realizing the historic nature of this opportunity, we did some juggling of our card and now all of the country, and especially college football fans will get to see this unique matchup."

The featured bout on the PPV card that will also be broadcast to all of Mexico on Televisa, will be an IBO World Featherweight Championship bout featuring current champion Australia's Jackson Asiku (26-3-14kos) defending his 126lb belt against former WBO bantamweight champion Mexico City's Jhonny Gonzalez (45-7-39kos). In the semi main event, Juarez's 31-7 Miguel Roman meets Michigan's 24-6 Tyrone Harris in an IBO Super Featherweight Eliminator war.

Doors open at 6pm Wednesday at the Hilton Theater, with the live portion of the show starting at 10:00pm EST/7:00pm PST on cable and satellite Pay Per view throughout America, and priced at $24.95.
