Campbell Soup Company Joins NWA LPGA Event in Support of Northwest Arkansas Food Bank
CAMDEN, N.J. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) today donated 150 cases
of Campbell's Chunky soup to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank in
ceremonies held during the P&G NW Arkansas Championship presented by
Walmart. Tournament officials also announced a $5,000 cash contribution
to the Food Bank as part of its overall charitable program. The LPGA
tournament is being held this week at the Pinnacle Country Club in
Rogers, Ark.
Charles Nevin, Campbell's Vice President - Team Walmart, said, "Campbell
is committed to advancing corporate social responsibility in everything
we do. We are committed to addressing hunger in the towns where we
operate. We can help address this challenging issue right here in
Northwest Arkansas with our donation of Campbell's Chunky soup."
Each case of Campbell's Chunky soup contains 12 cans, which means the
food bank will be receiving 1,800 cans of soup - or approximately 2,000
pounds of high-quality food.
Campbell has a long tradition of supporting hunger relief across the
country and in local communities where it operates. The company provides
on-going product donation support to Feeding America, which operates
over 200 food banks across the U.S. In addition, Campbell's brands
support the National Association of Letter Carrier's "Stamp Out Hunger"
food drive in May and the company's support also makes it possible for
the Students In a Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization to conduct its
annual "Let's Can Hunger" competition.
LPGA Tournament Chairman Jay Allen, said, "We greatly respect Campbell's
work in the hunger relief area and as part of our charitable program we
want to add our support to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank."
