RealNetworks Appoints Janice Roberts to Board of Directors

Janice Roberts is a Managing Director with Mayfield Fund, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, where she primarily focuses on mobility, wireless communications and consumer industries. Prior to her current position, she held various executive positions at 3Com Corporation, most recently those of President of 3Com Ventures, the investment division of 3Com Corporation, and Senior Vice President, Business Development and Global Marketing.

Ms. Roberts also serves on several advisory boards and on the boards of several private companies. She is actively involved with the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Stanford School of Business, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

"My corporate and venture capital background should provide useful perspectives as the company considers its strategic alignment in industries where I have spent much of my professional life."

Ms. Roberts will stand for election to the Board at the 2010 RealNetworks annual meeting of shareholders.
