Latino Leader Lauds Carly Fiorina For Debate Performance

  Share With Friends

WASHINGTON, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, a national organization of conservative Hispanics, praised Senate candidate Carly Fiorina for her strong performance against incumbent Barbara Boxer in their debate last night in Los Angeles.

"Carly Fiorina demonstrated once again why she's the candidate that can best defend the values of the Latino voters of California in the U.S. Senate," said Alfonso Aguilar, executive director of the Latino Partnership. "In her answers and comments, she showed California's Hispanic community that she shares our values. She made clear that, like the majority of us, she believes in the right to life and traditional marriage and that, if elected, she would work to support small and family owned businesses, so many of which are Hispanic owned.

"Moreover, on immigration, she unequivocally proved she, unlike Senator Boxer who has only made empty promises to us on this issue, is actually willing to work hard in the Senate to fix our immigration system. Mrs. Fiorina stated that she strongly supports a temporary worker program that would allow us to bring in the country the foreign workers that our economy needs and also came out in support of the Dream Act which would legalize undocumented immigrants who were brought into the country by their parents when they were under age. Mrs. Fiorina reminded voters that when Sen. Boxer had the opportunity in '07 to vote for a bipartisan immigration reform bill, she voted against it."

In July, the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, which promotes conservative values and ideals within the Latino community and works to integrate Latinos into fuller and more active participation and leadership in the conservative movement, launched a $1 million campaign in support of California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina. The "Tus Valores" campaign will encourage Latinos to take action to defend their deeply help values and vote in November for Carly Fiorina. The campaign will host public community meetings, town halls and rallies across the state. In addition, the campaign will feature paid ads on television and radio, extensive social media and internet activity and an aggressive earned media effort. Campaign communications will be in both English and Spanish. The Latino Partnership is an initiative of American Principles In Action.

American Principles In Action is a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to preserving and propagating the fundamental principles on which our country was founded. It aims to return our nation to an understanding that governance via these timeless principles will strengthen us as a country.
