The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has unveiled new PSAs featuring Muslim 9/11 first responders. Sparked by opposition to the planned mosque in lower Manhattan, the spots are designed to challenge growing anti-Muslim bigotry. The series of ads address the stepped-up rhetoric and physical attacks on the American Muslim community and Islam, as well as the ongoing tension and misunderstanding surrounding the building of mosques nationwide. The national campaign will also include interfaith leaders offering a direct challenge to the Florida church that plans to burn copies of the Quran on September 11.
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
