Charlotte Technology Entrepreneurs Launch The Charlotte Regional Technology Executive Council

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A group of passionate Charlotte-area technology executives and entrepreneurs have launched a new organization called The Charlotte Regional Technology Executive Council (CRTEC). The organization will be dedicated to the continuous education for its members, and the economic development of technology companies in the Charlotte region. The council resources are primarily volunteers comprised of executive level technology leaders in the Charlotte region. Founding Member and elected President Paul Solitario states, "CRTEC's vision is to be the premier forum for networking and collaboration between technology executives in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. The organization will provide ongoing candid deliberation on key technology issues facing our executive community, and promote social networking to foster the development of relationships essential to each member's success. We expect to be considered an essential resource for the development and success of technology executives in the region."

CRTEC has already enlisted forty members and held two invitation-only events this past spring and summer. "We've been surprised by the interest level from our community," said Josh Wolff, Regional Director for Technology Company Hosted Solutions, and CRTEC Board Member. "Our first two meetings had more than 50 attendees each and included both technology entrepreneurs and CIO/CTO business leaders. Charlotte has a vibrant, 'loosely coupled' tech community and we believe CRTEC will help tighten these connections and make them more leveragable."

CRTEC launched its website this month. Information about membership, upcoming events, and member and Board of Director profiles can be found at http://techexeccouncil.org. The organization is accepting new members. However, interested individuals must complete an application that will be reviewed by the Board of Directors. Membership criteria and instructions for completing the application can also be found on the CRTEC website.

CRTEC will hold its next event on Wednesday, September 15th at 7:30am at the offices of Sogeti USA (www.us.sogeti.com). Charlotte technology entrepreneur Richard Hipp will speak about the database software company he founded in 2000, SQLite, and its path to over 500 million installs including multi-national clients such as General Electric, Sun Microsystems, and Toshiba. SQLite also powers popular end-user platforms such as the Google Android cell-phone operating system and Apple's iPhone, iPod Touch, and iTunes. This is an invitation only event and interested parties should contact a Board Member or current CRTEC Member for an invitation.
