MEMPHIS, Tenn. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The DQ Crushers of Conway, AR held on to defeat the Banditos Black of Houston, TX by a score of 7-6 to win the Championship Cup at the 3rd Annual New Era National Youth Baseball Championship (NYBC) in the 10-and-Under Division played at Gameday Baseball's First Tennessee Fields in Memphis.

The DQ Crushers earned a trip to Memphis by winning the National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF) Championship. The Banditos Black are the Super Series Baseball of American (Super Series) Champs.

Connor McCullough of the DQ Crushers was named the series Most Valuable Player. In the championship game he drove in three runs before taking the mound at the top of the final inning with the tying run in scoring and one out. McCullough retired the next two batters to earn the save.

The Sportsmanship Award, a team honor, went to the Bravos of Carolina, Puerto Rico, the American Amateur Baseball Champions (AABC) in their age group. This is a team award given in recognition of a team's players, coaches, and fans respect for and courtesy to opposing players and officials, as well as a demonstrated commitment to fair play and a love of the game.

The NYBC features the season's top 10-and-under and 12-and-under teams from eight leading youth baseball organizations. In addition to AABC, NABF, and Super Series, participating organizations include: Amateur Athletic Union, Babe Ruth Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, National PONY Baseball, and United States Specialty Sports Association. The organizations with teams competing in the NYBC have a combined total of over 8 million participants.

The MYBA was organized by Eddie Einhorn, Vice Chairman of the Chicago White Sox, who felt all youth baseball players should have an opportunity to compete for a true national championship. He currently is the group's Interim Executive Director.
