Little Sarah Jane Joins Protest at ESB Supporting Mother Teresa
Five-Year-Old Relying Upon Miracle From Mother Teresa
Sarah Jane Donohue, the five-year-old namesake of The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation, joined protesters outside The Empire State Building on Thursday, August 26th to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Mother Teresa's birth.
Mother Teresa is very special to Sarah Jane and her family as they started a special worldwide novena through the intercession of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta on July 19, 2009. The novena called for a miracle for Sarah Jane through divine intervention with the assistance of Mother Teresa.
Sarah Jane suffered a severe brain injury when she was just five-days-old, when her baby nurse violently shook her, breaking four ribs, both collarbones and causing her to lose 60% of the rear cortex of her brain. She is currently five-years-old and still cannot crawl, walk or speak words.
Sarah Jane's father, Patrick Donohue said, "Mother Teresa needs one more confirmed miracle in order to be canonized as a saint and we fully expect once Sarah Jane starts walking and talking, Mother Teresa will get her wings." Patrick Donohue is the founder of The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation, which is one of the leading organizations in the world dealing with the #1 leading cause of death and disability for American children and young adults up to 25 years of age: brain injury.
Donohue continued, "Mother Teresa was a very unique and special person and deserves greater respect than she is being given by the owners of The Empire State Building. We will say a prayer for these individuals."
Mother Teresa was beatified as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta on October 19, 2003, by Pope John Paul II at St. Peter's square in Rome due to the miracle of healing the tumor in the abdomen of an Indian woman through her intercession. Beatification is a step in the process of being canonized as a saint. In order for Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be canonized as a saint a second miracle must be directly attributable to her intercession.
