Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) Opens New Outpatient Imaging Center in Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) is pleased to announce the opening
of an outpatient medical imaging and image-guided procedure center in
Avon, Indiana. The new center allows CDI to better serve medical
providers and patients in the western Indianapolis communities.
Located at 9819 E US Highway 36 in Avon, CDI's Indy West center offers
high-field (1.5T), wide-open MRI and digital x-ray, in addition to
image-guided interventional procedures for the diagnosis and treatment
of joint and back pain.
"We've long seen a need for high-quality, cost-effective medical imaging
services in our western Indianapolis communities as patient convenience
plays a large role in the decision on where to go for healthcare
services," states Laura Stark, Vice President of Operations, CDI. "While
we considered this expansion, we knew we wanted to do so without
duplicating medical imaging services unnecessarily. For this reason, the
time was also right to close our downtown MRI facility formerly on
Capitol Avenue."
With the opening of the Avon location and the closing of the facility on
Capitol Avenue, CDI still operates six locations throughout Indianapolis.
"Our ongoing commitment to investing in quality imaging technology is
evident in our new center," said Dr. Thomas Vahey, CDI body radiologist
and Medical Director. "Specifically, the Espree MRI offers the best of
two worlds. It's a high-field strength scanner which provides extremely
detailed images for more accurate diagnoses, and it has a much larger
bore, or opening, which helps ease claustrophobic or larger patients
through the MRI experience."

CDI is proud to be the official MRI provider to the Indianapolis Colts.
