PGA.com Tees Up Gotuit For 2010 PGA Championship
WOBURN, Mass. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Gotuit,
a leading provider of video metadata technologies, today announced that
PGA.com licensed Gotuit's Video Metadata Management System (VMMS) to
enhance the broadband video presentation and monetization of the 2010
PGA Championship as seen on www.pga.com.
Gotuit's time-based video metadata drove the live
player, individual golfer video
players, and the tournament-wide video
hub for the four day event.
The patented Gotuit VMMS was used to define each individual scene (shot)
within the original live broadcast across three different video feeds as
the tournament occurred, with metadata delivered in near real-time to
augment the video experience. Viewers of the live feed could choose
markers denoting the key moments and jump instantly to the start of each
scene. Fans of particular golfers could see each individual shot within
a video player for just that golfer. Automated playlists leveraging
structured metadata tags about each scene were available in the hub
including By Round, By Hole, Eagles, Birdies, Bogies, and more.
