US Oil Cleanup Product - Opflex -- Headed to China for Use in Dalian Oil Spill Disaster

  Share With Friends

OSTERVILLE, Mass. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Cellect Plastics LLC, a client of Novak Druce + Quigg LLP attorney William Ramey III, is pleased to announce that West Bay Energy, LLC (WBE) and Cellect Plastics, LLC have entered into an exclusive representation agreement wherein WBE will bring Cellect Plastics' advanced Opflex oil-spill cleanup products (www.opflex.com) to the People's Republic of China for use at Dalian - China's worst known oil spill. Based on proven performance as the leading new technology to efficiently contribute to the cleanup of the Deepwater Horizons oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the agreement will result in Opflex being deployed internationally.

"We are most pleased to have gained the trust of Cellect Plastics to bring its product line to China," said Glenn Wattley of West Bay Energy. "The Chinese always want the world's best technologies with unmatched efficiency along with environmental responsibility and Opflex certainly measures up with a proven track record in the Gulf of Mexico. Cellect Plastics LLC is setting new oil spill industry standards by recycling Opflex via centrifuging, pressing and wringing followed by redeployment. Of particular interest in Dalian is Opflex's ability to be submerged to detect and absorb oil beneath the ocean surface and to clean animals."

Scott Smith stated, "Cellect Plastics, LLC shares a sense of urgency with China Environmental Protection Fuel Group, Ltd and West Bay Energy, LLC in helping preserve and protect the marshes and beaches of China and setting new oil spill remediation standards for efficiency and environmental responsibility as an example for the rest of the World. I have a great deal of respect for the response and commitment of China to new technology to clean up oil spills without generating excessive carbon impact in landfills. The Chinese clearly understand the shortcomings of conventional booms merely adsorbing oil while the Opflex truly absorbs oil with its open celled foam structure while being 70% less in weight, recyclable, and biodegradable when eventually placed in a landfill."

Plans for Cape Cod Based Manufacturing Site as Center of Environmentally Responsible Disaster Mitigation

The agreement will also call for WBE to seek funding to increase Cellect Plastics' manufacturing of Opflex products. Cellect Plastics LLC plans to work closely with WBE to establish a full scale Opflex manufacturing site on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, along with a research and development center for future Opflex and consumer related products. Scott Smith stated, "As a long time resident of Cape Cod, I will never again take for granted looking out over the pristine waters of Cape Cod and fail to appreciate that it could be taken away with one disaster. I am committed to utilizing the human resources here to make Cape Cod a significant part of the solution to everyday oil pollution and disaster mitigation with environmentally responsible technology," commented Smith.

In addition to Cellect Plastics LLC's US expansion, WBE's partner in Hong Kong, China Environmental Protection Fuel Group, Ltd., will secure funding and partners for manufacturing facilities in China.
