Pope Benedict Goes Gangsta: Dons White Baseball Cap And Sports Bling

This article published in the Daily Mail under the byline "Mail Foreign Service" received a lot of negative comments. Many of the Daily Mail readers felt that the reporter was disrespectful to the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church.

I disagree, the Roman Catholic Church like any other powerful governmental or private institution should be subject to ridicule and criticism.

Certainly I wouldn't expect an intellectual to waste his time contemplating the ridiculous superstitions and myths of the Roman Catholic Church.

Criticizing the pope's eccentric tastes in fashion, makes more sense than examining the doctrine of the infallibility of the pontiff. The Daily Mail was too diplomatic, the headline should have been: The pope Goes Gangsta.

The "Holy Father" is wearing a white baseball cap, I'm surprised it wasn't cocked to the side. He's also wearing enough bling to make Mr. T jealous, and that ain't no jibba jabba! The pope is dressed entirely in white, I bet he was even wearing white drawers.

The pope's white outfit brought to mind the words of Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 23:27:

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

The pope is the head of a ruthless organization that systematically rapes young boys, demonizes gays and lesbians, and treats women like 2nd class citizens.

The pope should fall down on his knees, never mind that he will get his white outfit muddy, and beg god for forgiveness. He should sell his bling, and give the money to feed the poor.

Woe unto you pope, you don't fool us with your lily white costume!
