Campus Flowers' Veteran Florist, Tina Saglimbeni, Reveals Savings Tips for Giving the Perfect Gift

  Share With Friends

It's rare for the same gift to be appropriate for multiple occasions -- no one would give their manager, on boss appreciation day, the same gift they'd given their grandmother on her 80th birthday, right? According to Tempe-based Campus Flowers, it depends on whether or not they'd chosen the universal gift: flowers.

Flowers have the unique ability to adapt to any occasion, from engagements and anniversaries to funerals and well wishes. And when you're working with a florist who understands how to create the right bouquet for the occasion, you're ensured a recipient who feels special.

Tina Saglimbeni, owner of Campus Flowers since 1994, agrees. "Being located near Arizona State University, my customers range from 18-year-old ASU students to 90-year-olds sending flowers to their high school sweethearts, and everyone in between," she says. "We go the extra mile to make your floral gift perfect, by combining the finest arrangements and gifts with our friendly and prompt service, in order to ensure we communicate your sentiments of thoughtfulness to your loved ones."

Companies looking to welcome new hires to the job, congratulate employees on the birth of a baby, or impress or thank a client also look to flowers to send the perfect professional message. "We cater to corporations by offering corporate accounts with net-30 billing cycles," says Saglimbeni of her business, which delivers to addresses in Tempe and beyond. "We set them up with an easy-to-use fax form, so they only pay one bill a month for all their floral gifts."
And while a reputable florist will happily educate customers on how best to care for their purchase -- see the "About Flowers" section of Campus Flowers' extensive website, where you can also make an online purchase -- Saglimbeni also likes to educate consumers on why using a local company will save them money over a 1-800 floral service.

"The national flower companies who begin with a '1' unnecessarily charge you a middleman markup fee," she explains. "It's usually around $13.99 and you won't see this 'service fee' until your last step of ordering. This is not a delivery or shipping and handling fee, which is already included in the merchandise purchase. Why pay a middleman -- who's going to send your order through a local florist anyway -- extra money, when you could instead call a local florist directly?"
