Composer Nan Avant is Remembered by Accolade Competition in Film, Unremembered, and Scores an Award
Award of Merit Given to Nan Avant for Original Movie Score
"Unremembered" is a complex thriller told in non-linear time about a man who has no past. Like the film "Memento", but with a unique science fiction twist, this independent film follows the alternate reality journey of John Outis, played by Tim Delaney, over 16 days as he tries to restore his fractured life history. The more his dark past comes into focus, the more the lives of his friends, his wife, and his lover are altered.
"Unremembered" is a "sinuous and riveting independent film in the tradition of David Lynch" declares A.G. Nigrin, executive director, The Rutgers Film Co-op/ New Jersey Media Arts Center.
Says Nan Avant, "Winning an Accolade Award is a great honor, and I am thrilled that the award was given for the score in "Unremembered". When I first read the screenplay, I knew this would be an exciting film to score. The acting was exceptional and the screenplay brilliant. Greg's screenplay fused the interesting concepts of quantum theories and human emotions into a spellbinding thriller. Greg gave me insights into the characters and motives in "Unremembered", which ultimately formed my ideas in the music. Rich with thematic music, I integrated orchestral writing and rhythmic electronic undertones to create a dramatic score. I loved every minute of scoring this film!"
