Case Management Society of America Announces Its 2010-2011 Board of Directors

Leaders Take Office at 20th Anniversary Conference & Expo

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., July 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Teresa (Teri) Treiger, RN-C, MA, CCM, CCP, of Holbrook, Mass., took office as Case Management Society of America (CMSA) President during CMSA's 20th Annual Conference, held June 8 - 11, in Orlando, Florida.

Treiger has over 30 years of health care industry experience, 20 of which have been in care management. Following many years of bedside nursing practice, Teri began a progression from utilization management to care coordination to case management, working in many settings of practice in order to gain a comprehensive foundation of experience which is essential for today's case management professional. She worked in managed care, acute hospital, and rehabilitation hospital settings before moving to case management program design and implementation. One of her most rewarding experiences was working within an Alabama health care system, establishing an uncompensated care program, which leveraged a practice-based case management model and included transition of care and frequent emergency department utilization components. The key areas of this program were to educate patients/caregivers about their healthcare condition, coordinate necessary care, and support the patients/caregivers toward becoming their own healthcare advocates.
