Brand Neue Corp.'s New LED Task Lamp Provides a Safe and Energy Efficient Alternative to UV Radiation Emitting, Mercury Vaporizing CFL Bulbs

Brand Neue Corp. (OTCBB: BRNZ) ('Brand Neue' or the 'Company'), as the exclusive North American sales agent and distributor for Luma Vue LED Lighting products and systems ('Luma Vue') is pleased to announce that, on the heels of international media reports of specific health risks posed by CFL light bulbs used in home and office desk and task lamps, the company's new LED powered task lamp offers a safe, affordable, energy-efficient, designer task/desk lamp for home and office use. The Luma Vue 5-watt task lamp provides excellent distribution of no-flicker balanced white light, is low heat, comes with a five-year warranty, and, based on its 35,000-hour rating, should last more than 30 years.

Recently, Health Canada and other international agencies have identified specific user groups who, by virtue of their sensitivity to ultraviolet (UV) radiation or sensitivity to high EMF emitting fixtures, should consider either not using unfiltered CFL bulbs, or modifying their behavior when using CFL bulbs in task oriented fixtures like desk, task and accent lamps. Modifications include limiting exposure to distances greater than 30 cm (just under 12 inches), and for no more than three consecutive hours. Persons with Lupus, other auto-immune disorders, highly sensitive skin or certain other skin disorders, can be sensitive to CFL generated UV, and may develop skin conditions similar to those caused by unprotected exposure to sun. A 2008 UK study found unusual levels of UV light in one out of every five CFL bulbs tested (from various sources), and their recommendation was to maintain a 30cm distance for no more than one hour per sitting.

'We have received reports of eye strain and headaches associated with traditional fluorescents (tubes) and compact fluorescents (bulbs), and, although we aren't in the healthcare business, we are in the business of providing safe, clean, green, affordable LED lighting solutions for all user groups, in all applications. This new task/desk lamp is attractive, very easy on the eyes for limitless hours of reading or study, emits no damaging UV radiation, does not flicker, is low heat, uses very little energy, converts electricity into pure light without vaporing mercury like CFLs do, and should outlast any other LED desk or task lamp out there,' concludes LaBranche.

The US Department of Energy is looking closely at LED technology, and has a goal of reducing energy used for electric lighting in all categories, by 50%, or $27.5B over the next three years. Luma Vue LED tubes and bulbs offer both the performance and energy-savings required to meet DOE requirements and still maintain tough industry standards. North American consumers and retailers are preparing for a government legislated transition away, beginning in 2012, from energy-inefficient incandescent bulbs, and toward energy-efficient alternative lighting solutions like LED (light emitting diode).
