PITTSBURGH, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Retailers are opening now at Bakery Square! The 47,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Urban Active Fitness Center is open now. This Thursday, June 24th, Coffee Tree Roasters will serve its first beverages at their new outdoor cafe at Bakery Square. Friday, Anthropologie will open to the public with a one-of-a-kind, compelling shopping experience that has helped the high-end retailer grow to over 130 stores internationally. Friday and Saturday from 11 am - 4 pm, shoppers can get a taste of all the sweet things to come at the brand new, LEED-certified Bakery Square in Pittsburgh's East End, while enjoying live music, too.

The new fitness center represents the first Urban Active in Pennsylvania, and the 35th in the nation. Urban Active has numerous specialized fitness amenities, including a women's-only fitness area, smoothie bar, Under ArmourĀ® Pro Shop, an indoor pool, racquetball and basketball courts, spinning studio, a cardio movie theater, sprint track, cardio with flat screen TVs and kids' playroom. Locker rooms include a dry sauna, and state-of-the-art tanning facilities are on-site, too.

Anthropologie is an anchor retailer at the center, with a constantly-changing inventory of high-end women's clothing, accessories and home decor. The store caters to affluent professional women, with a shopping experience that makes women feel beautiful, hopeful and connected.

Urban Active, Coffee Tree Roasters and Anthropologie join the Marriot Spring Hill Suites Hotel and multiple office tenants who are already open at the lifestyle center. This August, Bakery Square will become home to Google, who will more than double their presence in the Pittsburgh market, and will operate a shuttle to connect Google to Carnegie Mellon University.

Bakery Square is an environmentally-friendly lifestyle development of Walnut Capital Partners in partnership with RCG Longview, located on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh's East End. The LEED-certified center integrates the historic architecture of a former Nabisco factory with new construction for a unique urban aesthetic, creating a multi-use location with on-site parking, hotel, office tower, shopping, dining and fitness center.
