Washoe County Regional Public Safety Training Center Hosts Live Webcast For Police, Fire and Public Safety Personnel
RENO, Nev. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Regional
Public Safety Training Center (RPSTC) in Washoe County, Nevada, will
host a webinar aimed at sharing how the RPSTC was able to
cost-effectively expand both their program offerings and audience reach
by adopting innovative streaming video technologies. The event, "How to
Expand Your Public Safety Training Initiatives During a Budgetary
Crisis," is scheduled for Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
In recent years, the RPSTC has experienced an increased demand for
classes and growing student rosters; the need to reach dozens of
enrollees with inconsistent and conflicting schedules along with
maintaining consistency across course content. To meet these challenges
and preserve a balanced budget, the RPSTC implemented new technologies,
including online video courses, to engage, inform and reach hundreds of
public safety officers throughout the region.
The event is open to everyone at no cost. To register, see http://www.enterpriseipvideo.com/VBRICK/WASHOE/registration.html
The panel discussion includes:
-
Greg Befort, Director, Regional Public Safety Training Center
-
Lieutenant Russ Pedersen, Washoe County Sheriff's Office
-
Captain Alex Kukulus, Sierra Fire Protection District
During this live discussion, broadcast directly from the RPSTC,
attendees will learn how they can effectively minimize costs while
improving the depth and breadth of training programs, as well as how to:
-
Increase class capacity by distributing knowledge to remote workers
while reducing travel and staffing costs
-
Offer more training on specialized subjects (e.g. disaster
preparedness, ICS, NIMS, OSHA, and more)
-
Integrate video for multiple stakeholders (local government agencies
and educational institutions) across a variety of existing IT networks
-
Facilitate consistent communications across multiple agencies
-
Calculate actual budget projections and potential savings
