World Cup: Chile 1-0 Honduras, Red Hot Chile On Fire In Early Kickoff
By David Jester
The final Group of the World Cup got underway today with an early kickoff between Honduras and Chile.
We have seen a lot of anxious play in the past week and have been disappointed by many top teams who have failed to show up or to display any flair on the pitch. Chile, regarded as a dark horse for this competition, came to put on a show though and they looked very impressive.
Beausejour got the only goal of the game when he scrambled the ball home after some slick play with thirty-five minutes played. Chile could and should have bagged so many more goals though and were enjoyable to watch, with Sanchez looking world class out on the wing.
They have to contend with Spain in this Group but based on this performance I think Chile will safely qualify and will be a force to be reckoned with in the knockout stages.
Spain and Switzerland play later and then we start the second round of games when South Africa play Uruguay tonight.
