Southern Living Plant Collection on Display at Bernheim Arboretum

Plants from the collection on display at the arboretum include: Jubilation Gardenia, Yewtopia Plum Yew, Robin Holly, Oakland Holly, Mountain Snow Pieris, Flirt Nandina, Obsession Nandina, Blush Pink Nandina, Emerald Snow Loropetalum, Purple Diamond Loropetalum, Delta Jazz Crapemyrtle, Early Bird Crapemyrtle.

Isaac W. Bernheim established Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest in 1929. I. W. Bernheim (1848-1945) was a German immigrant who settled in Kentucky. From a humble beginning as a peddler, he became successful in the whiskey distilling business where he established the I.W. Harper brand. Grateful for his good fortune, he gave Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest to the people of Kentucky as a gift. For more information, please visit www.berheim.org.

Introduced in spring 2008, the Southern Living Plant Collection provides consumers with innovative new plants designed to solve specific landscape challenges and to excel in Southern gardens.
