Southern Living Plant Collection on Display at Bernheim Arboretum
LOXLEY, Ala. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The Southern Living Plant Collection has added Bernheim Arboretum and
Research Forest to the list of Public Gardens that display plants from
the collection. Bernheim Arboretum is located in Clearmont, Kentucky.
Plants from the collection on display at the arboretum include:
Jubilation Gardenia, Yewtopia Plum Yew, Robin Holly, Oakland
Holly, Mountain Snow Pieris, Flirt Nandina, Obsession
Nandina, Blush Pink Nandina, Emerald Snow Loropetalum, Purple Diamond
Loropetalum, Delta Jazz Crapemyrtle, Early Bird Crapemyrtle.
Isaac W. Bernheim established Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest in
1929. I. W. Bernheim (1848-1945) was a German immigrant who settled in
Kentucky. From a humble beginning as a peddler, he became successful in
the whiskey distilling business where he established the I.W. Harper
brand. Grateful for his good fortune, he gave Bernheim Arboretum and
Research Forest to the people of Kentucky as a gift. For more
