Record Breaking 2010 FIFA World Cup on Univision Network for Opening Day
MIAMI - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Univision Communications Inc., the leading Spanish-language media
company in the United States announced today that an average audience of
4.0 million (3,997,520) Total Viewers 2+ tuned in to watch its exclusive
Spanish-language coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa on
the Opening Day, nearly doubling audiences from the first day of the
2006 FIFA World Cup . The opening game alone, between Mexico and South
Africa, attracted 5.4 million (5,398,318) Total Viewers 2+ and 3.2
million (3,246,139) viewers among the all important demo of Adults
18-49, beating English-language network ESPN by significant margins
(Nielsen's NPM Fast National ratings).
