Largest Event Management Software Company Worldwide Selects NitroSecurity to Securely Manage Rapid Growth

Cvent Drives Operational Efficiency and Real-Time Security With NitroSecurity Event Monitoring, Log Management, Correlation and Reporting Technologies

NitroSecurity, Inc., the leader in high-performance, content-aware security information and event management solutions (SIEM), today announced that Cvent has selected NitroSecurity event monitoring, log management, correlation and reporting technologies to enable its security defenses to keep pace with rapid business growth.

Cvent is the largest event management software company worldwide. Since 1999, more than 35,000 event and marketing professionals in 29 countries have used Cvent's solutions to send over 500 million email invitations; process over 10 million event registrations and survey replies; and manage over 200,000 events and surveys.

The Cvent IT team recognized that the company's existing log management solution could not scale to match business growth, nor the relentless increase in potential threats and attack vectors. Cvent sought a security solution that could scale to manage the exploding volume of log data, while offering real-time visibility into, and analysis of, all security-related events.

"Only a few years ago, we were collecting 15-18 million logs per day from just Windows Servers and Syslog. Now, with the addition of custom logs, and database and application logs, we project that number will nearly triple in the very near future," said Dwayne Sye, CIO for Cvent. "At that rate, any solution that requires time-intensive, manual viewing of incoming logs in order to recognize patterns and trends is untenable. For our business, it's critical that we can analyze all logs in real-time -- even in the face of exponential growth."

Cvent embarked on an extensive evaluation of solution alternatives and selected NitroSecurity for its unparalleled speed and scale in monitoring, correlating and analyzing logs. Notably, NitroSecurity was the only vendor with the ability to proactively track, trend and correlate their custom application logs.

Sye explained: "In our evaluation, NitroSecurity was the only vendor that had the scale and horsepower to offer an efficient, automated process for real-time analysis and rapid, 'on-the-fly' data parsing. We anticipate leveraging NitroSecurity products to analyze incidents from servers and applications for a truly global perspective, including immediate identification and alerting on application bugs before they impact customers."

Cvent has selected NitroSecurity event monitoring, log management, correlation and reporting technologies. The company valued the "tailorability" of the NitroSecurity user interface, which integrates all NitroSecurity system capabilities into a unified, "single pane of glass" view of all data and functionality. Cvent also singled out NitroSecurity's ability to monitor both Web-based applications and databases in parallel and correlate IPS information with security alerts.

"Business success and growth should not require sacrifices in security or create operational inefficiencies," said Ken Levine, CEO of NitroSecurity. "On the contrary, for existing customers who have helped to create success and new customers who place trust in a growing brand, the security and integrity of their data becomes even more important. We value the trust that a company like Cvent has placed in our technology and people to minimize the new risks that come with growth."

Unlike legacy SIEM solutions whose slower performance limits information visibility to standard network device and server logs, NitroView Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) drills deep and monitors all traffic on the network up to the application layer, protocol use and individual sessions. Using patented data storage and management technology that smashes performance barriers plaguing other SIEM providers, NitroView ESM is able to collect and manage billions of events, logs, network activity flows and even application content -- while maintaining the real-time analytics that are required for rapid incident response.
