30th Anniversary Superfest International Disability Film Festival
13 films to be honored during two-day festival and award ceremony, June 4 & 5
Veteran journalist and disability advocate Tina Marie Tyler has been tapped to host the 30th Anniversary Superfest International Disability Film Festival, June 4th and June 5th at the Gaia Arts Center in Berkeley, CA.
The festival, presented by Culture!Disability!Talent!, will honor filmmakers from around the world whose work represents the rich diversity of the global disability community. From Autism to challenging social stereotypes, these films represent the best in conscious cinema.
"This is an exciting year for us," noted Liane Yasumoto, Director, Superfest. "The incredibly powerful content of films from China, Poland, and beyond truly encapsulates what this film festival is about. Each film allows the audience access to a unique, often misunderstood culture. We welcome Tina Marie Tyler's participation as a passionate supporter of our community and emerging filmmaker."

About Tina Marie Tyler Tina Marie Tyler is an acclaimed broadcast journalist, Managing Editor -Entertainment & Film for the prestigious Art and Living Magazine, founder of The Tyler Foundation for Disabilities, and passionate supporter of Autism and disability issues.
Her fifteen years as a journalist have included working for such organizations as ABC News (top 12 affiliate), Fox 11 LA, Fox Sports, PBS, and as a special entertainment correspondent for EXTRA!, the TV Guide Channel, and a number of International outlets.
Current activities include: Vice President of the board of directors of Kids With A Cause ( a celebrity kids helping kids in need organization), member of the board of directors of Easter Seals Disability Services of Southern California, creator of the Unity Ball© Awards Dinner (a charity gala where persons with disabilities are the stars and those in entertainment who are making positive contributions to disability awareness are honored), and a member of the California Senate Task Force on Autism And Related Disorders. Tyler is currently in pre-production, directing her first film documentary on disability.

Over the years, Superfest has grown into an International media event that honors and celebrates the unique contributions of the growing disability arts and culture movement.
