CONSTRUCTION:

Since construction started in February, 18 construction days were lost due to rain and inclement weather. This has been one of the first weeks that hasn't had a rain day.

Today (Thursday) is the City-sponsored coffee chat, starting at 8:30 am at the Black Rooster. The project managers will discuss the schedule and moving forward. This is the best place to express concerns, and have questions answered by City and Teichert officials.

This week Teichert continue working on water in the 900 block and South Reading, and sewer in the 800 block. Folsom Boulevard off ramp to Sutter will be closed off and on for the next three weeks (weekdays only). Traffic will be detoured to Natoma to Wool to Sutter.

The schedule shows work to begin on the 700 block of Sutter starting June 14. Work needs to be done to strengthen the ground before underground work can begin. Teichert will start with sewer, water and then storm drains.

A car valet service is being coordinated for once construction moves to the 700 block of Sutter Street.

EVENTS:
Thursday Night Market is one week away tomorrow! Jim Crosthwaite has been hard at work to make this year's market the best ever! One of the greatest additions is a Folsom Has Talent contest. Local businesses support support is important and here's how more local businesses can help:

1.) Raffle prizes, valued at $20-$25, will be used as prizes for Folsom's Got Talent and the raffle. In exchange for donating a prize, the business will be highlighted on the website, in the weekly Telegraph ad and over the PA at the event. This is an outstanding opportunity to market local business as a highlight of Historic Folsom.

2.) A coupon booklet is to be distributed at Thursday Night Market, advertising businesses in Historic Folsom. Local businesses send their logo and advise us about the offer to be listed in this free booklet. Participating businesses say this is a great way to attract people into their business during the event. Coupons could be for buy 1, get 1 free, 10% off any purchase... to promote anything in the business. Email promotions to Shannon Cheyne by Monday, June 7, to be included.

Second Saturday June 12. A large turnout is expected for this great event. Radio 106.5 has been heavily advertising it during the morning show and information was sent to 44,000 people.

Farmer's Market starts on Sunday, June 13, on the 900 block of Sutter Street, and every Sunday until October 3.
