AECOM awarded design-build subcontract for major ring road in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Circle Drive South - the largest single construction effort in the city's history and the province's first alternative-delivery design-build transportation contract - has a total project value of approximately US$277 million. AECOM's fees for the subcontract were not disclosed.

AECOM professionals will provide design services for this major ring road, which includes a new south bridge that will cross the South Saskatchewan River, 4.3 miles of four- to six-lane divided freeway, four roadway interchanges and four railway grade separations. AECOM will also provide railway, stormwater, environmental site-remediation and sound-attenuation services.

"This work is expected to help reduce traffic congestion in the area by nearly 35 percent," said AECOM President and Chief Executive Officer John M. Dionisio. "We are proud to aid in this effort, which will improve quality of life and the impact of traffic on the local environment."
