Los Angeles to Play Host to First-Ever Online Video Event for Fans and Entertainment Community

Most Popular YouTube Personalities That Account for More Than Three Billion Video Views per Year Convene, Join YouTube Staff to Meet Fans, Discuss Future of Online Video

WHAT: VidCon 2010, a three-day conference focusing on the global multi-billion views-per-day YouTube and online video community. The event is open to the public and will be attended by online video fans, marketers, entertainment industry executives and representatives from some of the top online companies.

2025 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, California

WHO: More than 35 of the most popular YouTube celebrities that collectively account for more than 300 billion views. Among the personalities expected are: Hank and John Green, Shane Dawson, Shay Carl, Michael Buckley, Mystery Guitar Man, Charlie McDonnell, Lisa Nova. Also on hand will be several members of YouTube's staff to conduct breakout sessions and answer questions firsthand.

PROGRAMMING: The event will feature a wide variety of programming, including entertainment, roundtables on the business of online video, networking lunches, discussions on the impact of online video on society and the economy, and evening gatherings. Many of the YouTube personalities will be performing their repertoires for event attendees.

ONLINE VIDEO: The online video community has been increasing at a staggering rate. Online videos are watched by 75 percent of adults 18-35 and 50 percent of adults 25-55. YouTube exceeds more than 2 billion views every day; 94 of Advertising Age's Top 100 Advertisers have run campaigns on YouTube and the Google Content Network; and YouTube is the third most visited Web site in the world. In 2009, television ad spending dropped 10 percent and online video ad spending increased 50 percent.
