Nate Phelps, Estranged Son of 'God Hates Fags' Pastor Fred Phelps, to Speak in Toronto

Newly turned atheist and estranged son of 'God Hates Fags' pastor Fred Phelps will speak about growing up in the Westboro Baptist church, the most controversial family in the US.
Centre for Inquiry Canada (CFI) will host the event at the University of Toronto MacLeod Auditorium Friday, June 18th at 7:30 pm.
Nate will outline and denounce his family's anti-gay campaign and share his experiences growing up with the indoctrination and violence of his father. He will recount the journey since he left home at 18 from Christian fundamentalism to finally letting go of god.
Appropriately, this is a Pride Toronto Affiliated Event. 'The Westboro Baptist Church is highly homophobic and claims homosexuals, and those who 'enable' them, will burn in hell,' explained CFI Executive Director Justin Trottier.
Centre for Inquiry is the leading freethought organization in Canada promoting reason, science, secularism and freedom of inquiry.
