Farmers Insurance Topping Ceremony for New Print Distribution Center and Office Building Set for May 26, 2010

CALEDONIA, Mich., May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- A traditional building topping-off ceremony will be held on May 26, 2010, 10 A.M. at the building expansion site of Farmers Insurance Group at 5665 Kraft Lake Drive, Caledonia, MI 49316. The building expansion will eventually bring 1,600 jobs to the state and employ 420 workers in its construction.

"The topping ceremony follows the June, 2009 announcement made by Farmers CEO Bob Woudstra who stated the expansion is another example of Farmers' continuing commitment to doing business in Michigan," noted Steve Boshoven, senior vice president of Farmers Group, Inc.

                ceremony for two new buildings totaling 364,045 square
                feet on the existing grounds of Farmers Insurance office
                facilities located in Caledonia.

"I am proud to announce that the expansion, when completed will include a 264,045-square-foot office building and a 100,000-square-foot print and distribution center, and will eventually bring up to 1,600 jobs to the state," noted Woudstra.

"There are 27 West Michigan firms assigned to this project, making up more than 90% of all construction subcontracts. Over the duration of construction more than 420 local construction workers will be employed on site because of this project. At the height of construction there will be more than 200 workers on site at once," Woudstra stated.
