MEDSEEK Builds on Record-Year Momentum of 2009 with another Positive Quarter
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - MEDSEEK, the industry's only provider of the eHealth ecoSystemTM,
today announced the continuation of its record-setting pace in 2009 with
the announcement of a first quarter net revenue increase of 38 percent
over the same period last year.
"With Meaningful Use deadlines looming, healthcare systems continue to
seek ways to meet current and anticipated requirements. MEDSEEK's
eHealth ecoSystem has proven to go beyond the Meaningful Use checklist,
allowing our clients to leverage existing IT investments," said MEDSEEK
CEO Peter Kuhn. "Clients can also use MEDSEEK solutions to increase
service line revenue, facilitate secure access to EMRs and demonstrate
return on assets."
Frederick Memorial, an existing client that has chosen to deepen its
MEDSEEK relationship in 2010, recently achieved HIMSS Analytics Stage 6
for EMR adoption, placing the hospital among the top 1% of hospitals
nationwide. According to David Quirke, CIO for the Maryland-based
healthcare system, "The portability of data facilitated by our MEDSEEK
relationship is one of the significant reasons we were able to
accomplish this."
Quirke also attributed Frederick's high physician satisfaction numbers
to its MEDSEEK relationship. "In fact, at a time when we might expect
physician satisfaction to be at an all-time low regarding technology, it
is higher than it has ever been," said Quirke.
New client UNC Health Care will focus its upcoming engagement with
MEDSEEK on care coordination. "Patient portal functionality is an
integral part of our health care system strategic plan," said Matthew
Castellano, IT Director, Revenue Cycle Systems for UNC Health Care.
CHRISTUS Health, another new MEDSEEK client, will begin its engagement
with a focus on the patient experience. "Once we have our
enterprise-wide web site, we will quickly move to use the MEDSEEK risk
assessment tools to build service line awareness and help our patients
take a more wellness-focused approach to their own health care," stated
CHRISTUS Health Director of eMarketing Michael Fouratt.
"MEDSEEK clients are using the ecoSystem to attract and engage patients
and communities - like CHRISTUS Health is doing across 60 US cities -
and to recruit and retain physician relationships the way that Frederick
Memorial has done," said Kuhn. "By creating a 360-degree healthcare
experience, the eHealth ecoSystem allows healthcare systems to focus on
their most pressing eHealth initiatives, knowing they are also building
the foundation for future endeavors."
