Altig TV Celebrates Its 6th Year on the Air

"One of the most successful ideas of 2004 was to create a weekly TV broadcast over the internet; we called it Altig TV," said Rick Altig, Chairman of Altig -- a professional services firm delivering insurance solutions. "We were trying to figure out a way to pull all 31 offices together, from Newfoundland to Honolulu. We made sure the production has the 5 elements of a successful meeting: recognition, goal setting, reporting, motivation and education."

Altig now has affiliates in over 70 offices throughout the United States and Canada, each office 'airs' the show in weekly meetings. Although the show has grown to take on a life of its own, including addition of the weekly Leadership TV show in 2006, the foundation is still the original five elements of a successful meeting.

Each week there is an tremendous amount of work for the Media and Design department: gathering remote videos from Associates all over North America, filming sales leaders in the Altig Studio, preparing top achievers information, and of course editing -- lots of editing. Once the shows are completed they are compressed and downloaded over the internet.

From the professionalism of the shows, no one would ever guess that it is all done with just one camera, one Mac G5 with Final Cut Pro, and one videographer/editor. The studio is actually the executive lunch room. But finding on-camera talent is never a problem; everyone in Altig is ready to drop whatever they are doing at the opportunity to be on Altig TV.

"The show just keeps getting better and better," said Rick Altig; "It is actually hard to think back to a time where we didn't have Altig TV -- so much revolves around it now. It is our main way of communicating news and sharing success with all of our Associates."
