Look What's Going on in Historic Folsom!
Construction:
The rain is going away and clear skies are in the forecast tomorrow. Teichert will be working on the sewer lines in the 800 and 900 block of Sutter Street. The 800 and 900 blocks of Sutter will be closed to vehicle traffic. The sidewalks will be open and businesses will be open. Teichert will also be working on Leidesdorff, in front of the parking garage. Flaggers will be directing traffic. Gold Lake will be open and accessible. The parking garage will be open and all surface lots will be accessible.
Karen's Bakery is hosting a children's story time tomorrow at 9:30 am. The subject is construction. Karen herself will be reading a story about construction and then Teichert will give a quick tour to the children and their parents. Most likely Historic Folsom will receive some media exposure from this event.
Historic Folsom Goes Western:
In celebration of the rodeo, Historic Folsom goes western, starting June 12. Please decorate your window with a western theme. We will be having a contest for the best window display. Judging to take place at Second Saturday on June 12. The winner will receive a $350 advertising credit with the Folsom Telegraph. Let's work together and dress up Historic Folsom!
Thursday Night Market:

In addition, Jim has partnered with the Cappuccino Cruisers and we will have a cruisin' car show on the 600 block, during the June 10, 24, July 8 and July 22 markets. Second Saturday:
Thank you to everyone who participated in Second Saturday by providing entertainment or an artist in your business. For this event to continue being a success, it is vital we continue offering something special on this day. In June, we will have a lot of exposure on the radio. Start thinking now what you can do to make your business exciting for next month. I would like to finalize the program by Friday, May 21. Send me your information ASAP.
RELAY FOR LIFE:
Sierra Moms and Mélange have joined forces in the fight against cancer. May 22nd and 23rd our team will walk all night (because cancer never sleeps) to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society.
Already listed in the TOP 3 teams for fundraising, our efforts to raise more money continue on! Mélange will host a Paris Flea Market focusing on Joie de Vie (the joy of life!). They have generously put together over TWENTY FIVE FABULOUS GIFT BASKETS full of merchandise donated by the vendors at Mélange. Tickets are being pre-sold at Mélange and will be for sale at our tent site the weekend of the event. You can preview the baskets at Mélange 307 Riley Street in Historic Folsom and buy your tickets there to be entered in the drawing that will take place the second morning of the event (don't need to be present to win but need to be local enough to collect your basket at the event or later at Mélange). Mélange is also selling water bottles which include drawing entries! So, be sure to get a water bottle too. 100% of the funds raised from the basket drawings will go to the American Cancer Society!
